Faron Sage Discusses Societal Issues on the Genre-Blending “No Alternative”

Faron Sage is an artist who always challenges the status quo. From their musical stylings to their content, Sage is an artist who always gets my attention when they drop. Even when I don’t fully write about a track, I absorb it thoroughly.

Their latest, “No Alternative,” is a journey through sounds that discusses modern societal issues. The mash-up of genres speaks on how our modern societies are spurred on by capitalism. Capitalism, as we know, isn’t necessary the end-all, be-all when it comes to achieving growth and our potential. Capitalism gives birth to other subgroups within the hierarchy, with most being marginalized. I think that the song itself works because it takes jazz, spoken word and even a bit of electronica and makes something new out of them. We get a song that makes you think about the difficulties we regularly face while also getting an intriguing song from a sonic perspective. If you want to rebel while you jam to something alternative and unlike most of what you hear, this is for you. Check it out below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
