The plight of the minority in America is one full of strife. The road for young Black people, it seems, has even more twists and turns than it should. Personal friend to SOTBMusic Wayne Watts captures this rage against the machine and the system perfectly in the visuals for his new song “Gettin Old.” Switching between protests, images of Trump “combating” what he considers as “fake news,” Wayne drinking to ease the pain of being a Black man in America, and a police brutality case unfolding before our eyes, we’re taken on an emotional ride through the mind of a man who’s saying “enough is enough.”
When crooked police act as gods, that’s when we all fall. When men (and women) are given the power to take lives at will just because they don’t like the way someone looks or their suspicions lead them down a wrong path, who watches the watchmen? When will this insanity stop? These are all asked in this visual and I’m here for it all.
