Chaz French has always been about pushing the DMV region’s sound while still uniting the area around a common goal: dope music. His recent EP, Kill Vol. 1, accomplishes both in a relatively short amount of time. Featuring cameos from artists ranging from Big Flock and Innanet James, Chaz’s first project since releasing True Colors a few months back is a definite must-listen.

While it sounds cliched to say, there really is something for everyone on this one. My only complaint is that the project is only a few tracks. It gets you hyped to hear more. But, by the end, you’re left with a feeling of “that’s it? I need more!” To remedy that, you should probably check out True Colors if you haven’t already. Nevertheless, the project slaps and has everything I look for when I search for dope music.
