You’ve probably been wondering why updates, new music, and general SOTBness has been on a decline the past few weeks. Simply put, between my job picking up, being sick, and being more engaged as a partner and a father, I’ve been putting SOTB on the backburner. It sucks, because I always love to support dope music in all its forms, but it’s a product of my environment (no pun intended). However, please note that I’ve gone quality over quantity the past few weeks, I have no intentions of stopping SpeedontheBeat.com. It is a valuable resource and it’s like my therapy to write about dope vibes and what’s going on in my life. So, I plan to keep the same energy and keep the site up and running–even if life pulls me away from it.

On another note, I got engaged to Raquel (long time coming), so wedding bells will be ringing soon.

Through this engagement, I also got complete closure with Ms. Pink Jacket by talking to her about our high school experiences and explaining that those experiences helped bring me to the point of needing to marry Raquel. Without my flubs with Ms. Pink Jacket, I wouldn’t have matured the way I did and I wouldn’t have been the best man I can be for Raquel and my kids. Yeah, a lot of other points and events have helped me evolve. But, the experiences with Ms. Pink Jacket were some of the biggies.
