Baltimore-based artist Jay Wyse drops his first full-length project in a minute in Humble Savage. I received the link a few days back, but I feel that this thirteen-track album needs to be featured on Friday the 13th. No, it’s not a horrorcore album or anything. But, it does mark an end to Jay Wyse as we once knew him.
He’s more accepting of his role as a wordsmith, and that shows in his humble brags throughout the album. He’s matured a lot since his last release and the subject matter covered on this one showcases that–and, of course, the bars. Like the title track, Wyse’s listeners have had to “Trust the Process” for some time. Like the Sixers, the payoff is grand. Let’s just hope that no big bads come along and try to clip his wings because he can soar if we let him. Check it out below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
