New SOTBMusic: Super Nike Nando Drops His HEEM Album

If you follow Super Nike Nando, you’ll know that he makes music you can feel. His Twitter account even says that he “make[s] music/art for overcoming anxiety, no matter your race, background or sexual preference.” With that in mind, it’s no surprise that HEEM (an album named after an “enhancement word” used to put emphasis on something) keeps that same energy. While the album comes from a place that is both dark and light (it’s dedicated to several family members as well as his soon-to-be-born daughter), there’s definitely more of a light shone with this one, possibly to help pay homage to those Nando lost over the process of recording this album.

HEEM is eclectic with its references, pulling from “traditional” hip-hop sources, pro wrestling, and other art forms to give us punchlines and metaphors. However, one thing is for certain. Nando came to run with the best of them on this project, as it shows why SNN is still one of the shining–albeit somewhat unsung–stars from the DMV region. Check out HEEM below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
