SOTBMusic: Freshi’ya Sings About Love on “Amazing”

DMV artist Freshi’ya (pronounced “fresh-ee-yah,” per her IG) hit my line with the visuals to her recently-released track “Amazing.” All I can say is that if you’re looking for R&B where people sing, the track is definitely going to be your jam.

It’s got an early 2000s feel, like a deep cut on an Ashanti album. The video itself is minimalist. Freshi’ya sings in front of a colorful background in an oversized plaid shirt, adding to the 2000s throwback energy. The song itself is a track about how her partner in love is an entity that she can’t help but sing about. What carries the track is her vocals, which again remind me of Ashanti (who, in my humble opinion, could and can SANG when you really listen to her stuff). Check out “Amazing” and its parent project, which drops soon, and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
