Dre Wave$ is a rapper’s rapper. He’s lyrical, has a slightly menacing growl to his delivery, and he has qualities that remind me of a mix between mid-era Tyler and A$AP Rocky. With that in mind, let’s talk about one of his newest cuts, “ALAMO.” He shoots to be the King of the Hill here, using his flow and his lyrics to stake a claim as an artist to check out—at the very least. He could’ve stopped there.
And then, the visuals hit.
The visuals are trippy to the point you’ll probably wonder if your morning coffee was laced. It keeps things interesting and doesn’t really distract from the lyrical barrage Dre sets forth in the song. Check out both above and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
