PHZ-Sicks has been a very busy man recently. In addition to prepping for his Great Day, Better Tomorrow album (check out my post on his track “Run It” here), Sicks also dropped a loosie called “DX/NWO.” It immediately took me back to stuff from Smoke DZA, JihaD Scorcese, and the days of working on Eyes on the Ring with True. That’s a shameless plug, since I don’t know if we’ll ever do a Vol. 2. Blame us for not being inspired by wrestling at the moment.
Pity parties aside, PHZ-Sicks recently dropped a video for the song.
Featuring a bevy of wrestling clips that I hope doesn’t get Sicks banned by YouTube (you know how WWE is), the video seamlessly links moments in wrestling history to Sicks’s lyrics. The track could easily be a theme for a show or highlight reel, as it’s in-your-face and lyrical, but still catchy. It kind of reminds me a bit of the “Indie Circuit” track from EOTR because of the name drops and hit-you-in-the-face lyricism. It’s a pretty nice track, so check out the visuals above and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
