DAR Elite member J-Pegs the Legend has an unique approach to his music. It’s like a combination of multisyllabic rhyming, 90s Southern rap, and late-2010s production and flows. I’ve followed him for a while before he officially joined the fold. I feel that I owe it to him to give one of his latest albums, Weeber, a complete listen.
J-Pegs’ strength is his lyricism and flow. Each track he hops on during this sixteen-song project showcases something different. The term “jack of all trades” sometimes gets thrown around in a pejorative way (“jack of all trades, master of none” comes to mind). However, Pegs seems to have mastered what makes him unique in a sea of artists. This uniqueness, along with his creaky, somewhat haunting voice, makes Pegs an artist who I rock with–outside of DAR as well as within the collective.
