Hyattsville’s own BDX the Don makes his SOTB debut with the anthemic “Fly.” Featuring Beau Young Prince, an artist who’s been heard more and more these days, the track is braggy, confident and it’s just an undeniable bop. It’s a sound debut on the site for the Maryland artist as it also lets me know who he is as an artist and person. He’s about his money, but he’s also about uplifting those closest to him, which we see in the visuals for the project.
If you’re feeling down and out, it’s one of those tracks that will get your ready to make that money and get off your ass. Everyone needs a song like that in their arsenal and you could do much much worse than “Fly” as your go-to. This song works as more than just being a feel-good bop, though. As mentioned, the song aims to uplift as much as it aims to make you nod your head with the beat. Additionally, the visuals are a mix of a kickback and blowing money fast while still staying humble in a small circle.
You can tell that BDX is hungry for more, as he’s not just chasing a dream. In fact, he’s living one through this track and collaboration and the lyrics hammer that point home. Yes, he wants the money. But he also wants those around him to prosper and grow with him. That in of itself is enough to give this track my stamp of approval.
