Eso.XO.Supreme’s “Cut You Off” and “Shaken Not Stirred” Are Two Sides of the Same Coin

Eso.XO.Supreme has been busy since the last time he appeared on SOTB. His latest song publicized (note: this one was actually released a while ago) “Cut You Off,” features the artist singing about a treacherous relationship that he must remove himself from in order to prosper and do bigger and better things. I’m a big fan of the layered melodies he employs throughout while utilzing Auto-Tune and harmonizing over the instrumental’s driving synth. I’m also appreciative of the fact that this song isn’t just a minute-and-a-half. Instead, he takes all four minutes to sing his heart out about this relationship and its failure(s).

On the opposite side of the spectrum, we’ve got “Shaken Not Stirred,” a booming track which is defiant to convention as much as it is melodic and high energy. Sonically, it reminds me of early Weeknd in the approach. The visuals, released in April 2021, are trippy AF while still keeping the “I’m enjoying life because I’m doing what I want” energies. It’s a solid addition to the artist’s discography because it doesn’t shy away from what he wants and needs from people around him.

The songs here showcase why Eso always delivers and should be in your playlists ASAP. Check out the songs here and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
