Abigail Bleu’s “Wife This” is a Solid SOTB Debut

Happy Friday everyone.

In the middle of vibing out to True’s Liberty Heights Diary (which may or may not be his strongest album in the last eight months), I came across Abigail Bleu’s “Wife This.” Sonically, she reminds me a bit of Ariana Grande, down to the fullness and richness of her vocals. It’s poppy but has a heavy R&B leaning down to the vocalization she utilizes on the song.

Instead of whisper-singing like some acts, Bleu decides to sing sing (without “sanging,” unfortunately) about how she’s a top choice for her partner. It’s a throwback, in some ways, to mid-2000s R&B but feels fresh enough to hold its own in 2021. It’s a solid track, one that’ll keep me looking out for the Jersey native. Check out “Wife This” below and remember to support dope music in all its forms. Hopefully, if you’re looking to be a hubby/wife to someone, you can do so this weekend.
