munn_zee Talks About “This Girl”

munn_zee’s “This Girl” is the type of track that’d usually get passed over on SOTB. It’s a few months (years possibly, considering the song.link has it releasing in 2017) old and it has a distinctly poppy sound. However, there was something about the lo-fi-esque beat that grabbed my attention. While the song is only about a verse and a chorus’s worth of lyrics, the song hits you in the feels. From the dialogue in the beginning all the way through the chipmunky chorus/bridge, munn_zee speaks about a woman who he fell for and whom he misses–even if the relationship wasn’t perfect.

It’s a mix between sadboi lyricism and somber reflection about a past love. In other words, even though it feels very poppy at points, its originality is perfect for a showcase on SOTB. Check out the track below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
