Kowan Discusses His Come Up on “Kid Kowan”

On “Kid Kowan,” New Jersey’s Kowan discusses his childhood. It’s a simple premise. That is, it’s about a young man with a ton of potential learns to tap into it after realizing he’s worth more than what he’s seeing. However, it’s one that’s executed well.

The visuals helps hammer home the point that Kowan is a young man on a mission, as they feature him as a teen working through school even though he’s not an A-plus student. Some of the imagery in the video, such as a plethora of analog clocks, helps paint a picture that shows Kowan as having all the time in the world–but still a finite amount to figure out what he wants to do. The song itself is solid, as Kowan spits a mainly clean rap about wanting to be an inspiration and wanting to be more than a statistic. Check out the visuals below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
