DVRLENE and Tyler Pal Present Two New Tracks

Above, we’ve got two tracks from Canadian duo DVRLENE and Tyler Pal. Both of these songs appear on the recently-released For Your Safety, Hold On EP and they’re as airy and atmospheric as they are just plain and simple bops. The two tracks, as well as the EP, tell a story of DVRLENE and Pal greeting their newfound freedom with open arms, but with a bit of pessimistic apprehension. DVRLENE’s vocals are beautiful and mix a blend of Alessia Cara’s vocals with a bit of Jhene Aiko. The songwriting and production reminds me of early Weeknd, down to the dark undertones of the beats and vocals even.

All in all, it’s great music. If you ever wondered what Alessia Cara and early Abel would sound like together, this is probably the closest you’ll ever get to that. So if you like these, check out the EP proper and support dope music in all its forms.
