Well, shit. What happens when you mix How The Grinch Stole Christmas with virality, chemical imbalances, drugs and twerking? Before today, I wouldn’t know. I’d think the closest would’ve been the mall Grinch I saw on Ashley’s IG feed.

That was, of course, before I heard Dax’s “GRINCH GOES VIRAL.”

The song is a shitshow (but in the most-lyrically-impressive way possible) and puts The Grinch in the body of a struggling man who wants to gain publicity and get on–at almost any costs, including his sanity, his freedom and possibly his life. It’s a scathing look at our viral today, gone tomorrow digital society that still manages to be funny as well as educational and/or critical. It’s the rare mix of a double-time flow with extended storytelling that you’d get with some of my favorite Tech N9ne songs (and yes, I know I’ve said I’m not the biggest fan; I still think the man can spin a yarn when he needs to). All in all, it’s a darkly funny song that makes you think as much as it’ll make you bob your head uncontrollable. Check it out below and support dope music in all its forms.
