Merry Choppins is the brainchild of producer/songwriter Tony Esterly. Born out of the COVID lockdowns we’ve seen in 2020, the side project blends a lot of genres together to create something that’s equally experimental and trunk-rattling. The latest track, “ib2up,” features Nashville rapper Tim Gent rapping/chanting over the genre-blending instrumental.

The song started as a hook and quickly evolved into the finished product, which is both an anthem and a chill vibe (at once and encompassing everything in between).
