S-X is a UK-based artist who recently linked with Trippie Redd for the sonically-impressive adventure “All Night.” It kind of reminds me of a sadder version of “Sunflower,” the neo-classic Swae Lee/Post Malone song. That could be because the production reminds me of “Sunflower,” but it’s also the whole mood of the track. Both artists sing-rap about meeting up with a special someone who they’re ready to spend some time with. The beat’s bouncy but has some undercurrents of sadness to it, which helps Trippie and S-X emote that much more.
I like the video because it’s a mix of an animated visual and a lyric video. It’s a solid production all the way around. I like the uses of blue hues throughout the track as they add to the emotional aspect of the track. I also like that Trippie’s verse features a lot of red because it matches the fire he gives us in the verse. I’m not the biggest Trippie Redd fan, but the brother can make emotional hip-hop when it’s called upon. So I’ll give him and S-X their props on this one. S-X wrote this one with Rico Love in 2019 and it’s like the collaboration is bringing a lot of fruit.
