Above, we’ve got the latest from BB Thomaz, a New York-born multigenre artist who blends a pop sensibilities with soul and Afrobeat leanings. It’s a mix of stylings that works very well, especially on her latest song. “Somebody” is one of those tracks that’s about recognizing the strength one has within and using said strength to help the person next to you (and realizing that we’re never alone, regardless of how dark things can be). I love her vocals, along with those of her featured artist, Portugal’s Gato Preto.

The instrumentation is poppy, but has a great amount of soul attached to it, living up to the elevator pitch Thomaz sent me about this song.
