XIIDC Presents the Action-Movie Inspired “3 Ninjas”

When I first got this one in my submissions box, I was instantly grabbed by the young woman (later to be revealed as rapper Typhanie & Co.) in the Elle Driver attire. That’s because, growing up, the Kill Bill duology was one of my favorite series. It instantly took me back to those days as a teenager watching Uma Thurman kicking ass and taking names as The Bride.

What follows in the visuals for “3 Ninjas” is nothing short of amazing.

The trio of artists (Spell the Third, Artshow and Typhanie & Co.) proceed to chop through the beat and their verses like skilled lyrical assassins. The visuals are just as gritty, calling forth Kill Bill imagery, other Tarantino films and a few kung-fu flick moments for good measure. The song is fire, but the visuals are what kept me thoroughly entertained. This one hits me a bit closer to home, quite literally, considering that the trio are DMV-raised/residing artists; all three are a part of the DC-centric collective XIIDC.

Check it out below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
