Terry Blade’s back with another track and it is a beautiful (albeit a bit sad) one. The Neo Queer artist’s “For You” is a ballad in the vein of D’Angelo, Prince and Serpentwithfeet, down to the intimate production on the song. It’s one of those types of songs that’s calling out for that special someone, saying that Blade does a lot–including sacrifice–for this other person. However, it doesn’t exactly feel like that sacrifice is reciprocated, as Blade seems to be the only one who’s giving something up in the relationship.
It’s a bit hard to call this one an outright breakup anthem. That said, there are elements within the song that go that way and I personally feel “For You” is better for it. Check out the new, powerful song from Blade below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
