Above, we’ve got the latest song and visuals from Bay Area artist J.Lately, “Pictures.” What grabbed me about this one was the first line, “I don’t need plaques, I want pictures on my wall.” That’s because it’s honest and it’s real. Plaques are cool, but memories and stories have more worth–at least to me. Like, I could get a couple million streams on Spotify and a couple more million views on SOTB and I’d treasure a random photo of my kids and me where I look like I’m 300 pounds more than the accolades. I like the positivity on this song, because, like Lately, most of my heroes haven’t been famous, either. The production is top-notch and the video takes you and puts you into J.Lately’s mind and thought process. It’s a beautiful track, one that reminds me of Mac Miller and Logic in the best way possible. Check out the track above and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
