Faron Sage has made their mark by providing listeners with thought-provoking alternative hip-hop tracks. These songs try to, quite literally, make heads or tails of the way our society has become enamored with sticking with the status quo. Always one to challenge said status quo, Sage’s latest, “Head or Tail” continues some of the same energies and protests of the previous song from the artist. An eclectic mix between alt-rap, bluesy basslines and more, “Head or Tail” is abrasive.

However, it’s through that abrasiveness that we get the core of what Sage wants from the audience. They want the audience to challenge what they’re told and fight for their right to live how they deem fit. It’s not going to be brought about through politics–unless, of course, the whole damn system is rebuilt. It’s a pretty powerful track, once one gets beyond the eclecticism of it.
