A track that feels a bit like Common’s “The Light” with a pretty beautiful visual, LocalBlac and Hina Kawago present a modern love story. It’s complete with mixed signals and lovers who don’t know if they’re compatible–even though you’ve got one who’s ready to put everything to the side. Overall, I think the visuals make the song that much better.
Now, the song itself is solid in its own right. As mentioned, it reminds me of Common’s “The Light” in its approach to love and all its intricacies. But the visuals put faces to ideas and show that there is a bit of a disconnect between LocalBlac and Kawago. However, that disconnect is also two-fold. See, we see there’s a disconnect, but Kawago and Blac still push through and work through their differences. That’s because the overall message of the video is “love is eternal, regardless if it’s between two partners or two friends or even a more humanitarian love between two perfect strangers.” Check out the powerful visuals below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
