On “Digital Dope,” Grey Matter Speaks About a World Wired to No End

`A song that’s equally conscious as it is a solution to an ever-growing problem, “Digital Dope” from Grey Matter finds the rhymesmith speaking on how we’re connected–and how that’s not entirely a great thing in the grand scheme. I love the lyric video because it’s straightforward and to the point. With lines like “I don’t see lots of love, but we’re filled with likes,” GM is positioning himself as someone who, like all of us, is tech savvy–but resourceful and grounded enough to not let his screen own him. It’s a bit fitting that this one hit my line before I embarked on a family vacation. Lord knows I need to unplug. Check out “Digital Dope” below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
