A mournful song of sorts, “Handle It” finds Lace The Hands discussing a relationship for her ex which has potential, but is nothing like the one that used to exist between her and the man who left her for “something new.” I love this one because it sounds like that classic ’90s R&B, but has an Ella Mai sort of edge to it to make it contemporary. I also enjoy the story being told. Sometimes, you don’t realize what you had until you don’t have it anymore. The South Carolina State University alum sings her heart out on this one and the visuals help put this one in the realm of a Jazmine Sullivan as well. I really think that Lace has a lot of potential and am looking forward to what she has coming out–especially if it’s anything like “Handle It.”
Check out the visuals and the track below and remember to support dope music in all its forms. Also, remember to not always run off to something new when things get tough. Sometimes, it’s okay, but sometimes that new love may not really be all its cracked up to be.
