I like this one because it’s like a Mac Miller song in its commentary on love and how our society can sometimes doom young lovers because of materialism or darkness in place of light. I also love that it’s got a bit of optimism to it, even in the face of the darkness. It, as Gringo mentioned to me, “mixes the nostalgia of boombap drums” and socially conscious love lyrics to make its claim that, even if a couple is young and their vision a bit clouded by “reality,” they can make it as long as they’ve got love.
