SOTB is typically a hip-hop and R&B-centric site. That’s how it’s been since May 21, 2012 when I first started writing on speedonthebeat.com. However, every now and then, I’ll stumble across a song that doesn’t fit the parameters but still deserves a shoutout. This has happened more since linking up with SubmitHub. And that is the case for B8TZ, Cadence Grace and DOMN8T’s “Got This Feelin.’”

There’s something undeniable about the production as well as the upbeat nature of this song. I think it has to do with the fact that the production reminds me ever so slightly of Baltimore club/old-school house music. It could also have something to do with the fact that B8TZ (pronounced “Bates”) is an artist who writes, produces and mixes all his tracks on his own. As someone who’s also a bit of a Jack-of-all-trades (and master of most), I’m always here for artists who can do it all and do it all well.
