Over a lo-fi production, singer/songwriter AdrianK’s “For a Day” finds the artist speaking on all the things he’d like to do with his lover, from the sensual to the explicit to the mundane. I like the “let’s just enjoy each other’s company” vibes we get from this song. It also helps that Adrian has a solid voice mixed with a laidback flow on parts of the song. Overall, it’s a heckuva song, one that’ll get stuck in your head and make you want to be close to your special someone.
This is one of two songs I’ve ever heard from AdrianK. The first, “You’d Still Look F’n Good to Me,” is a smooth jam that showcases Adrian’s vocals and moody R&B energies as well. I’m a huge fan of the jazzy production on “Good” as it acts, in some ways, as a prototype of “For a Day.” At least in the energies and vibe, if not completely the subject matter. Like “Day,” it’s one of those songs that’ll get stuck in your head and make you want to be close with the person you’ve chosen–even if it’s only for a little while.
