Thomas Iannucci and 8ro8 Present the Deep “I’m Not Depressed” Remix

Over melancholy guitars and boombap drums, Thomas Iannucci and collaborator 8ro8 get very introspective about depression, moving above and beyond said depression and how mental health is an important facet of our lives. As an artist and advocate for mental health awareness, I’m here for this one. That’s especially because it’s a beautiful song that features the duo speaking on trying to stay afloat in a world that’s quick to take us under. I’ve been there. Even though I’ve been in better control of my mental health in recent years, it’s one of those things that can still kick my ass. I’m human, after all

The “funny” thing about depression is that it doesn’t always look like crying your eyes out into your quintuple shot of 151. In fact, a lot of us wear (somewhat disingenuous) smiles while navigating the world because we feel that maybe we shouldn’t complain. I mean, we’re, at the least, here on this earth; some people don’t even get that much. With that in mind, I’m here to say “it’s okay to not be okay,” as this song does. Sometimes, it’s quite alright to feel a little sad–even if you’re not fully clinically depressed.

Anywho, before I turn this post into a place where I’m exorcising some (more) mental health demons, check out the song below. Support dope music in all its forms, as always. And, please please check on your people and let them know they’re loved. Sometimes, even if that’s all we can do, that’s enough.
