Charlie from the Couny’s latest, “Girlfriend Killer,” has a real Big KRIT sort of feel to it. That’s the best way I can put it without giving the track away. From the beat to the swagger Charlie exhibits on the track, this is grown-man rap.
I mean, I’ve been there (finding a woman that’ll even make you consider having kids with–even though you’re not going to go that far). It’s a mesmerizing feeling, one that can get you caught up if you’re not careful. This is also addressed through the song, hence me saying it’s “grown-man rap” versus just smashing and dashing. Like, even though the aforementioned “Girlfriend Killer” is the type that’ll make you reconsider everything you’ve got going on, you know the risk and accept it.
I like the R&B element of the track as well, since it adds some softness to the bars. Plus, you know Charlie’s swinging for the fences on this one from various angles. I’m curious to see where this one’ll take SOTB’s favorite couny boy. Check out “Girlfriend Killer” below and support dope music in all its forms.
