Above, we’ve got the latest from Jersey artist YFNVon. “Emotional Gang-star” is an EP, which features the title track and four other songs. This one grabbed me because, while it has a drill-like vibe, the emotions presented on the title track made me want to keep listening. And listen, I did.

The songs presented here were great tracks which give us a solid view into which Von is as a human and an artist. He’s got a bit of Roddy Ricch to him, mainly because both artists are unafraid of telling their truths, regardless of how vulnerable that may make them. The title track stands out because it features a chopped sample of Labi Siffre’s “My Song,” the track Ye sampled on Graduation’s “I Wonder” (which was one of my favorite songs on that album).
