Khamari is “Drifting”

In his first release in almost a year, Khamari’s return to form is equally an “ode to the challenges of living in the moment” and a smooth track about trying to keep up in life. Beautifully sampling Nina Simone’s rendition of “Strange Fruit,” this one’s a powerful track. As Khamari sings he needs “another shot of dopamine,” we’re treated to a song that also finds us questioning if we’re going about things the right way.

What I mean is, listening to this song made me say “damn, maybe I’ve got to stop trying to live in the moment as much–especially if the moment is fleeting.” That’s not to say living in the moment is bad. However, it is to say that living in the moment has its downside, for sure. Most of which revolves around trying to keep up with everyone around you.
