Maffmatix and ILL Bill Get on “Grime Time”

Bars! That’s the biggest takeaway from “Grime Time,” that bars are an amazing thing to have–especially when you use them to do something besides just say “I’m fire at rapping.” Taking things back to “the classic NYC grimy hip-hop days,” Maff and Bill rip the boombap-heavy beat to pieces while darting around, shooting shots at the way things have devolved in some outlets of hip-hop. It’s not a “we’re here to save the day” as much as it’s a “let’s eliminate the wonkiness in hip-hop while still pushing its boundaries and broadening its horizons.” In other words, it’s exactly the type of track I love to feature on SOTB. Check it out below and do the thing: support dope music in all its forms.
