Jewel Owusu Presents the Dreamy (But Profound) “afloat”

Australian artist Jewel Owusu’s “afloat” is, in a nutshell, about the anxieties that come with relationships and growth in general. More specifically, it’s about “loving someone through their flaws, mistakes and changes,” even if they end up not being as idealized as you once thought they were. The track itself is a dreamy lo-fi offering, but the lyrics cut through the atmosphere and say “even if you’re not perfect, I’ll still love you–because I love you unconditionally.”

I like that energy, and I love Jewel’s vocals. Overall, this is a track that makes me want to hear more from Jewel in the coming months. That’s especially since she’s working on a new project. If you’re curious (or even just want to remind yourself that you don’t have to be perfect to receive love), check it out below and support dope music in all its forms.
