I feel the best way to describe this one is as such. Take Del the Funky Homosapien’s “Positive Contact,” mix in a healthy dose of early-2000s Justin Timberlake or Pharrell vibes and put a bit of Kendrick Lamar’s abstract storytelling. That’s still selling it a bit short, but you’ve got to admit that it’s an interesting pitch.
An intergirlactic journey through time, love and space, the song is funky, intriguing and a nice blend of sounds. All that creates something unlike most of what’s out there; it has a very unique feel and sound. You wouldn’t think that a song about an unobtainable woman would go left, stay left and become something that’s worth several listens. However, here we are talking about it and basking in its abstract glory.
Fletcher, who’s based in London, is also putting the finishing touches on a project that’s dropping in October. If it’s anything like this song, it’s going to be abstract with some throwback vibes but made with love. Hopefully, my pseudo-rambling about the track does it justice because yes, it is that good. So check it out above and support dope music in all its forms.
