Summer’s over. If you’re like me, you probably think that it went by a little too fast. That said, just because temperatures aren’t scorching anymore doesn’t mean that the music we listen to has to suddenly lose its fire and edge. Personally, I like to take the fall and winter months to heat up even more. I think this is what prompted Miss Kam to drop “Let it Simmer,” a Baltimore Club-heavy track.
Produced by Beats by Torian, “Simmer” features Kam firing rapid-fire bars at her opposition and those who pass by her without acknowledging what she does—musically and otherwise. I love the confidence in this track. While Kam’s always been confident in her abilities, it’s nice sometimes to hear someone “talk that shit” and be able to back it up. And back it up, she does, doing so without relying on cliched punchlines, sounds or rhyme schemes.
Kam’s busy putting the finishing touches on her Tew Be Continued EP, which is slated to drop later this year. If “Simmer” is any indication of the type of time she’ll be on when it does, look out world and protect your neck. It’s already going to be full of that hometown lyrical cooking we’ve come to expect. However, it also seems that we’re going to see the artist try new things and succeed at them quite well. Check out the track above, be on the lookout for TBC and support dope music in all its forms.
