Austrian producer Dantaya linked with the legendary Blu on “Feelings,” a quick jazzy rap track about trying to save the youth. It’s also a plea of sorts to keep everyone aligned under positives, even as the world seems hellbent on screwing people up and over. The song appears on Dantaya’s BALANCE project, which dropped in late August. I’ve started to give a listen and I must say that I’m impressed by the cohesiveness and subjects touched on throughout the project. Plus, the beats knock.
Back to “Feelings,” Blu is one of those rapper’s rappers who sounds great on pretty much anything he’s given. When he’s given melancholy, emotionally-deep production like on “Feelings,” he hits another level. In doing so, he consistently reminds people he’s true to this hip-hop ish, not new to it at all. The California rapper extraordinaire has been pretty busy this year and this one is another addition to his 2022 repertoire.
