As a creative, I feel this one in the pit of my soul.

Sometimes, you just need to detach from everything and just exist in a bit of quiet. Sometimes, you need to not have your boys hyping you up, your shawty or wife or partner saying sweet nothings. Hell, sometimes, you even need the dog to stop yipping at everything moving upstairs. I feel that I do my best work, lyrically, when I’m able to just sit in my thoughts and write. Otherwise, I can make good music–but it’s not top-tier SOTBMusic.

That’s also true for just taking some moments to oneself and enjoying them, absorbing your surroundings and, as Ross said in his pitch, “filling yourself up for the next venture while enjoying the stillness of the present.” I mean, this is a song that gets what it’s like to be a creative. That’s especially true when you look at us creatives who just finished up and need a second to recollect.
