“Scars” is the first single from Pat App’s upcoming Mad Alchemy project and it’s one that grabs your attention right off the bat. Reminiscent of early Kid Cudi, “Scars” lets listeners see Pat as vulnerable and one who’s trying to build up trust in a world that’s not always kind. I love the minimalistic beat, as it allows you to focus in on the lyrics. The lyrics and the way they’re delivered, they’ll grab onto your feels and not let go until the end.

Why? Well, who hasn’t been screwed over and has learned to trust again.

It’s a hard process, one that gets harder the more you have to rebuild your trust. However, if you can do it once and find people who won’t take advantage of your trust in them? Hold onto them for dear life and only let go when the relationship doesn’t serve you and the other person. I’m curious to see what Mad Alchemy will sound like. If it’s anything like this, it’ll be an emotional listen.
