MacIzm Has an “Old Soul”

Maryland-born, North Carolina-raised MacIzm hit my line with this one. It’s like the embodiment of self-love and casting aside things which no longer serve you or things that bring you pain. I’m here for this song, especially because it’s no melodic. As a giver and a helper, it’s taken me some time to learn how to say no and place my own peace above everyone else’s. I still have moments where I lose myself in other people’s issues and concerns. But, because of a solid relationship and a good therapist, I’ve been better about it the last year-plus.

Anyway, back to Mac’s track. It’s very assertive while also being smooth. The last line goes something like “if you don’t need me, then I do not give an eff.” When I tell you I felt that in my soul, I’m not BSing around. The song is great and will make you feel good about prioritizing yourself over others every so often. After all, part of growing up is learning to love yourself as much as you love others to make less-toxic love for all. Check out the song above and support dope music in all its forms.
