Mark Evich Speaks from the Soul on “Pressure”

Let me start off by saying I love the fact that Mark sang on this one. Like the brother actually emoted a great deal on here. Why? It’s because you can’t have a song about pressure potentially beating the hell out of you mentally (even if you’re getting some wins) and have it, as he said, sound like “cute ‘Mumble B’ whispery stuff.” Over a minimalist beat, Evich sings about how “pressure [keeps] playing tricks on him” and making him feel less than. It’s real from-the-soul soul music.

All in all, if you need to know someone else is going through some ish and understands where you’re coming from? This is the song for you. Pressure sometimes makes fools of us all. With that in mind, please know it’s okay to just step back, enjoy your wins as much as you can and then hit the track again. You’re not less than by admitting you’re feeling pressured, like at ALL. Also, remember that pressure makes diamonds.
