A song about the world and how messed up it is, this “Millennial lament” is one of those songs you need to hear–if only for the funky bassline. It’s got a real 2000s feel to it, vocally and otherwise. She sounds unique, though, more like indie neo-soul than pop R&B for sure. Plus, the subject matter, while dark, is presented in a way that’s easily dancable and digestible. The video also features some creative ways to get the point across. If you like your R&B with a bit of reality, a pinch of snark and a healthy helping of pessimism unheard of (to me) since Alessia Cara dropped her first album, this is for you. Check out the song below and support dope music in all its forms.
