A cut from J. Period’s 2021 project Story To Tell Chapter One, “Globetrottin'” is one of those jazzy, upbeat songs about, well, basketball references and throwback vibes. The whole song is a bop, but it’s more than just a bop. It’s like a “portal” back to the days of Saturday morning cartoons, hooping with your boys and catching up on the latest issue(s) of your favorite comic/manga/magazine. I also love the visuals (below), as they combine a lot of different mediums–even puppets–and feature quite a few surprised. That’s even before we get to the DJ Jazzy Jeff guest star spot.
