Over a somewhat dreamy, disco-like instrumentation, Disaster Fantasy continues to create their brand of “ecstatic celebration[s] of dread.” The song sounds very bouncy and airy. However, when you get down to the actual lyrics, you find a pretty damn dark story, one that even has a focus on people going through the notions–even though they know everything’s all but over.
When I say “I cover alt pop,” this is typically what I mean (pop that uses happy instrumentation to talk about darker things). Either that or pop that’s more along the Weeknd/alt-R&B side of things. Without giving too much away, the song is incredible. Check it out below and support dope music in all its forms.
