There’s nothing like soul samples and those boombap drums. Yes, I’m a sucker for that sound–still. However, I only become a “sucker” for it when the lyrics match the goodness of the beat.

Queens artist Double A.B. and producer Git Beats’ “On My Way” is one of those songs. The lyrics are solid, the concepts too. It’s giving us a rundown of how A.B. became who he is today, musically, personally and otherwise. Plus, the flow has that gruff NYC feel to it that you can’t get anywhere except from The Big Apple.
