I feel completely honored to get to talk about “Let’s Party.” Not only is Kool and The Gang one of my favorite groups, they were one of my mom’s favorite groups as well. It’s that sort of intergenerational love for good music and a good time that makes the song, which features Sha Sha Jones (the first woman to share lead vocals on Kool and The Gang tracks), stand out from other classic groups introducing their sound to a new generation.

It probably also has to do with the fact that the group is also creating the instrumentals as well–which I always love. On top of that, it’s still Kool and The Gang. You can’t go wrong with the classics, especially when they’re as groovy as this. There’s nothing like an artist/group vibing over live instrumentation, for real.
