Shaheed and DJ Supreme Celebrate Hip-Hop with “Take It Back”

Hip-hop duo Shaheed and DJ Supreme, on “Take It Back,” celebrate the 50th birthday of hip-hop. The song, originally released on their 2013 album Knowledge, Rhythm and Understanding, is pretty damn dope. I love the “DITC” (Digging in the Crates) style of the visuals, which find the duo in a record store looking through various rap albums. I also love the wordplay here, as it’s great in a throwback sort of way. What I mean is that the track, while it’s from 2023, it’s got that warmness you got from ’90s rap. Check out the visuals below and support dope music in all its forms.
