An alt-R&B track about finding oneself, Bronze Whale’s latest is a defiant, genre-blending excursions. Here what the group had to say about the track:
On Fire explores our relationship with the music industry, finding our voice, and taking ownership of our career and our future. We’ve always been really big on keeping this project in-house. Over the last ten years, Aaron and I (Benny) have sorted our how to do all of our own artwork, run our own label, mix and master our music, do video and social content, and absorb as much as we could about the industry and its practices. It can definitely feel like an island. Without the cooked in community from a label or collective, we had to fight to build our own, and bring in artists we wanted to raise up. On Fire represents that journey to being proud of owning our career, and fighting to stand out in this industry.
If that’s not enough to get you to peep it, I suggest you still do so. As an indie artist, I understand how hard it can be to constantly have to fight for what you believe in. It gets tiring, but nothing good ever comes (that) easy. Check out the track below and support dope music in all its forms.
